About Sarouk Rugs
Sarouk rugs are a hallmark of Persian craftsmanship, originating from the Arak region of Iran. Celebrated for their durability and graceful designs, Sarouks often showcase central medallions or allover floral motifs with curving vines and stylized blossoms. During the early 20th century, especially the 1920s, Sarouk rugs became highly popular in Western markets, leading to the development of the distinctive “American Sarouk” style. These rugs are typically woven with high-quality wool and dyed using a rich, saturated palette—most notably deep reds and blues.
