About Lilihan Rugs
Lilihan rugs are woven in the village of Lilihan, near Arak in west-central Persia. These rugs are known for their single-wefted structure, durable wool, and vibrant colors—often favoring reds and blues. While their construction mimics that of Sarouk rugs, Lilihans are distinguishable by their softer handle and looser weave. They were a popular export in the early 20th century and remain sought after today for their bold patterns and robust construction.
